For over 20 years, trumpeter Eric Siereveld has built a reputation as a multifaceted performer, composer and educator. Deeply influenced by the hard bop/post bop tradition, his compositions and improvisations are historically rooted and refreshingly modern. He is the leader of the Organic Quintet, a fresh take on the classic organ jazz quintets of the 1960’s. This group features NYC guitarist Jonathan Kreisberg, Indianapolis organist Steve Snyder, Madison based tenor saxophonist Tony Barba and Milwaukee drummer Mitch Shiner.
Their debut recording, “Walk the Walk” features all original compositions from the pen of Siereveld and Kreisberg. A veteran of the New York City music scene, in 2018 Eric relocated to Monroe, LA where he serves a the Assistant Professor of Trumpet/Jazz at the University of Louisiana Monroe, holding the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Endowed Professorship in Music. In addition to his teaching duties, he is a member of the Black Bayou Brass, and created/directs the nationally recognized “Talons for Taps” program. Eric is a Conn-Selmer Endorsed Artist, and plays Bach Stradivarius Trumpets. He is also a TorpedoBags Performance Artist and endorsing artist for The Silencer.

All About Jazz (Mike Jurkovic)
"One might compare Siereveld - on trumpet and flugelhorn - and saxophonist Tony Barba to Horace Silver frontmen Blue Mitchell and Junior Cook; they evoke a similarly dramatic flair."
Downbeat Magazine (Carlo Wolff)
"... the bandleader's bite and swagger, along with Barba's meaty tonality, set apart the debut of of Eric Siereveld's Organic Quintet."
Downbeat Magazine (Carlo Wolff)
"... this ensemble would be riveting live, as the bass-free group effectively straddles the familiar and the daring."
Downbeat Magazine (Carlo Wolff)
"Trumpeter Eric Siereveld plays with a wonderful sound, swing, and lyricism. On "walk the walk" he has assembled a killer band to perform his fresh perspective on the jazz tradition. It was an honor to be a part of it. Check it out!"
Jonathan Kreisberg (NYC Guitarist)
"Eric is a marvelous trumpet player and knows his jazz theory inside out. He was a tremendous help at my Summer Jazz Workshops. Great transcriber, too."
Jamey Aebersold
“Eric’s books are an invaluable tool for growth as an improviser. The transcriptions are fantastic, but it’s the biographies, interviews, and notes on each solo that give real context and insight into the art and the artist.”
Joey Tartell - Associate Professor of Music -Trumpet Director of Undergraduate Studies - Jacobs School of Music - Indiana University
"Eric is a total pro...on every level. It's been a pleasure to work with him!"
